Both sold: Lowden S-32 & F-32
I ended up with two similar spec'd Lowdens.
Both guitars are located in Swansea, South Wales.
£2500 for either one both now sold.First up: A gorgeous 2017 Lowden, handbuilt in Downpatrick, NI.
Includes the provenance document, Lowden polishing cloth and copy of the original sales receipt.
No marks to note, it's in showroom or better condition.
It might just have the tightest grained spruce I've ever seen on a guitar, with beautiful book matched rosewood back and sides. Compared to the F-32, it's got a bit more midrange/high-end projection with loads of wonderful overtones. It's also very comfortable to play.
Second up: A beautiful F-32 Lowden, handmade in Newtonards, Northern Ireland in 1997.
It includes the original owners handbook and the warranty paperwork
It's in very good condition for 25 years of age, has some minor marks here and there and is structurally sound without cracks or damage.
Wonderful rich tone, very well balanced across the strings. Set up at 2.25mm at the 12th fret
The older F-32 had nicer appointments than the current one, including the abalone rosette and multi-ply wood binding.
Beautiful, tight and even grained Sitka spruce top that has aged to a golden hue and has a lot of visual (and tonal) life to it. Rosewood back sides and bridge with ebony fretboard. No fretwear to note.
