Buying form Tube-Town - what's the score with VAT?

I'm looking to source some transformers for an amp build project and Tube Town have what I need at a decent price and spec. By the time I'm done I'll have spent around £200 with them. Are they set up like Thomann, or would I get stung for VAT and/or import duties - their own help page makes me think so.
Anyone have recent experience, and how much were you spending (eg more or less than £135)?
