Hi All
Inspired by the amazing responses to Allen's request for help (on his thread) I thought I'd seek some guidance on something I've been transcribing. I'm using the (amazing to me) Transcribe! software (and not sure I'd get anywhere fast without it). I've been working out the guitar part in "Hoochie Coo Chickie" by Joe Jones (Ivan "Booglaoo Joe" Jones):
There's a lot of "too messy to identify" messages in the chord analyser, but the chord sequence seems to be something like D#9 / G7 / D#9 / Bb7 / C7 / D#9 / A7. Wonder if that seems correct to you, and perhaps there is something interesting to say about the choice of chords, or indeed about the piece generally?

D7 with vamping to D7 sharp 9 ... then G7, then back to the one, then Bb7, C7, G7, A7 which as the the 5 in this key is the perfect cadence back to start.
This is by ear though so could be wrong
Does anyone else hear that he's a bit behind the beat with his single note lines?
Enjoyed it - but wasn't sure if I was watching 70s porn or Elvis was about to burst into song. Which says a lot for my musical influences.

With Transcribe! you can tap in beat and bar markers, and he is not metronomic, if that's a term.
