Selling this for my Dad who hasn't played for a while. Super quirky vintage 1971-72 Gibson SG-200. These were only made for 1 year and only 23 were made in 1972 so the likelihood is this from 1971 (the pots are dated ‘71 too). They are made completely from maple with a slightly oversized body compared to a standard SG. Original Gibson script logo single coil pickups. Sounds quite stratty! Tons of mojo, lots of bumps and scrapes but no structural damage or headstock breaks. It’s missing the scratchplate, the control knobs are non-original and it’s missing the bridge cover (although most of this model I’ve seen are missing this, presumably because it covers the saddles and stops palm muting being possible). A previous owner had played about with the wiring and taken the tone capacitor out but this was recently reset to original and the capacitor has been replaced with a Sprague orange drop. Collection from near Leeds is more than welcome or I can ship it at buyer’s cost. I don’t have a case for it but it will be well packaged for shipping.
