  • Nice ideas from @dindude @octatonic . @Handsome_Chris has reminded me I want an Octaver again, don't think I'll go Micro Pog this time I want something glitchy and mono.

    Gfb that was stunning.
Roland said: Scales are primarily a tool for categorising knowledge, not a rule for what can or cannot be played.
Supportact said: [my style is] probably more an accumulation of limitations and bad habits than a 'style'.

OK, not written for this task, but it was written in October.

It's going to be (one of) our new song, but this was the first jam of it. Unfortunately, we have not been able to capture the initial feel that this take as yet.

Edit: I have no idea how to embed the soundcloud :(

  • A lot of good work on here, good to hear some of you playing.

Handsome Chris riff is way out there (in a good way, I mean).

@gusman2x nice to here a real live jam recording here.  Not an easy thing to record well.  I know cos I've tried many times. Some nice grungy atmospheric stuff here and it'd be good to see how it develops.

@daveww Thanks man. Like all practices, there's good ones and bad ones. We've got quite a lot of good ideas now, but still ot really developing into full songs yet.

Thought I'd better try something, being the one who set this wretched task 'n' everything.
So tempted to just post one of a thousand (OK, probably more like 17) riffs I've recorded in recent years but thought I'd force something new through the cholesterol constricted creative pipes.
It's a rather simple, groove-based riff using the usual Stonesy shapes and shambolic lack of timing etc,

@Basher very nice and indeed Stonesy type riff.  Lovely laid back feel to and great overall mix.  the cow bell was a nice touch too.  Hard to come up with an original like this but you did it.  Keef better watch out  ;)

bit late, but here's one I did earlier. Still messing with it to get it right for one of my bands, and it's a bit muddy, but here you go:
