Got a message from @Lewligan way back in October asking about a possible refin on a Yamaha SA2000, I happily agreed to take the job on, this was before seeing the state it was in!!!!. long story short and about 4 months of horror later it's complete, this was single handedly the hardest refin I've ever had to do, the body was so unstable to strip with heat I had to sand it all back, then on top of that the ridges(and it wasn't checking formed in the finish) had found their way into the wood, again, something I'd never seen in all the years of painting. To top it all off the sheer scale of doing it all in the same colour was a nightmare,This guitar is friggin huge and anyone who has worked with Crescent bronze powders knows the stuff is as fragile as a butterflies wings and breathing too close to it before it's been clear-coated absolutely ruins the finish. I dont want to blame the weather either but it has been the single shittest winter I've ever seen, when rain virtually didn't stop for 3 months solid. Ontop of that various stressful personal issues, job threats and ill health i've never been happier to see a guitar boxed up and ready to leave my grasp.Anyway, here you go Lew mate, some before and after pics.

Wonderful work and about as tough a refin assignment as one could hope (or not) to find.
Lovely guitars and probably worth the investment.
I've got an SA2200 that I'd love to see in an ES-style Cherry finish but don't worry, I won't be pestering you any time soon!

Honestly you'd think we were forever asking you for difficult stuff....
Ahem
I also apologise on behalf of the guitar for nearly driving you to the brink of insanity. I know it's been a bastard, and I really do appreciate the effort you've put in to get it looking so good.
Can't wait to treat it to some new hardware now and give it a run out at a gig
Beautiful work as ever, Rich!
