Anyone here own a Gretsch Panther?  I played one in a shop some time ago and it was killer.  Unfortunately I'd just bought a 335 at the time.  After the 335 went on its way, the Panther wasn't there anymore.  Was a bit gutted and still think about it.

Wow that is JUST gawjus!  Note to self; you really need a sparkle jet, Nick!!!
And yes I get your take on the oversized headstock on a Penguin - I''m not keen.  When I had my BillyBo made, I specified the smaller head for this reason.

I dedicate this thread to the Sparkle Jet in the Blackhole Sun video.
Seeing Chris Cornell playing it is the major reason i wanted this one!

Very nice. Where did you snag that from?

I had a white penguin for a while. Great onstage bling guitar.

Got it from ebay. This Stephen Stern masterbuilt is so much more than a bling guitar...

That was a modified Gretsch G Love Corvette.  Pickups were TV Jones Powertron, which are freakin' awesome pickups for classic rock, they even do classic Gretsch Chime!
To be honest, all set neck two pickup Corvettes (or CVT's) are cracking guitars.  Mod the Bigsby, slap a Compton or Tru Arc Lowrider on it, and it's a killer workhorse of a guitar.   The regular Corvette had Gretsch Megatron pickups, which are ceramic magnet, and like a hot 70's Filtertron.  They're excellent rock pickups too!

Avoid the bolt neck three pickup CVT, they suck ass.

The two pickup Corvette is (IMHO) the best Electromatic Gretsch you can get.  They're like an angry SG, but with more bite and snap, and no muddy pickups.

I was looking in fact Moe, they're all from the same person. All for sale outside ebay at a cheaper price, but the seller is not based in london, still a nice option, really cool guitars.

I am considering 'outting' my 5135 PS, Stump-o-matic, just simply not getting played enough.  Cracking little guitar with lots of tones from the three Megatrons
