I have a Tele at the moment and was wondering which solid body guitar offers the most diverse sound when set against the Tele?
Jazzmaster / Jaguar / Stratocaster / Some kind of HSS type, Yamaha?
Perhaps its my playing or just my ear but Im struggling to make a choice, they seem to sound similar to each other. I prefer a smooth jazz type tone.
I also have an Epi ES 339 and I quite like its shorter scale.
Your thoughts on this would be appreciated.

/\ Im 50 something, Im gonna feel so 'sheep like' buying a PRS!
Are they worth the psychological damage a purchase like this might cause?
Didn't consider another HB guitar, I thought the ES kind of covered that.
SG2000 looks good.
As you already have a semi with HB's, I'd go for an SG or Les Paul with P90's or a HSS Strat.

There is a lot of merit to what has been said above about Strats and Les Pauls as well. Choice, Choices!
I'd take the opportunity to go into a big shop on a quite day and play lots of different ones to work out what you want.
I think you are right of course, I should try some, in fact I have tried a few, but I just hate playing in stores, often you can't hear your self playing for the noise of others or alternatively the place goes silent and I whimp out!
I thought I'd ask just to narrow it down a bit.
To try em all out is the answer though!
Strat or Strat-derived guitar, with any pickup configuration.
Give thought to a "Superstrat" of some (any) description, but be aware if you look at a Floyd-equipped guitar and aren't used to them.
There's some good used guitars around and good prices.
