    :) :) :)

Damn, I can't stand them. Variety is the spice of life and all that though.

Nah no Tele. I'm acoustic only (Lowden O22c) now, no electrics.

I can't help about the shape I'm in, I can't sing I ain't pretty and my legs are thin

But don't ask me what I think of you, I might not give the answer that you want me to

Yes really :-D l love the look, proper futuristic looking guitar, not to mention great playing.

Let me guess your a tele player:-)
    No, Rickenbacker :).

The Fly is just hideous - I could have forgiven it if it had been ergonomic as well, but it also happens to be one of the most uncomfortable body shapes ever. Even if you're not female.

And the headstock makes it impossible to put on a guitar hanger. And they sound awful. And you can't easily change the pickups. And the frets fall off. (OK, some of this only applies to the 'proper' ones.)

It does have an angled neck pickup though. I've read somewhere that gives greater harmonic catchment ...

@CHRISB50 Now that's a guitar I can respect, im down to one electric now, acoustic all the way :-)

    @ICBM
OK so you may have some valid points there,:-D But i have some wonderful rose tinted glasses from gigging a fly for 8 years, ignore the constant chest stabbing from the upper horn, and the weak dimarzio pickups and you do have an extremely durable/ light guitar, with a fantastic bridge.

The pickups were unacceptable on a 2.5k guitar tho I totally agree.

The flying tele is so bizarre that its actually very cool - ideal for a Country Metal player -this should have been the John 5 model

It's almost as ugly as a Telecaster, not quite, but damn close to being as ugly as a Telecaster.

Can't post the image at work, but I just turned it up the right way and I think it looks a little better.  Still not beautiful though.  Like something Lindsdey Buckingham might play...

I actually like the Gibson M3, apart from the Floyd Rose (which is a matter of taste/application) and the headstock. The body shape is very ergonomic, which trumps it being a bit ugly.

It was a much better guitar than some of the other crap they've come up with in the name of "innovation", anyway.

    Yup.

    It was a brilliant guitar.

The scratch plate was foul, but I liked the headstock.

The Epi one was very good too - or at least the ones I tried were.

I really liked the dusk tiger, I'd happily own one and the m3 :-) this blackbird looks like it has melted, if it was white with a floyd rose and carbon fibre neck, it would def look better :-)

The Gibson M-III was bloody cool.

I'd nitpick about details (Floyd, scratchplate, maybe the arrowhead inlays) but I really liked the original design, especially in the natural wood finish.

I agree they are definitely uglier but I bet they wouldn't cost as much as the blackbird, which to me makes it even uglier :-D
