Thanks for the offer Lewligan. however i have one already (well 100watt version) and just bought a 1974x combo, so would have to pass on the amp trade offer.
They do sound very good though those 800's

Hmmm all interesting comments guys. Trust me I'm not trying to rip anyone off but I'm no expert on this things. I'm just passing on what my friend of 20 years has told me. What I do know is that he bought all the parts seperate and got the body refinished. I donlt know if the neck is a neck off one o the orig Clapton strats or one of those you can apparently buy seperate.
Regarding the body...once again only my friends word for it I'm afraid
I'm not in the UK at the moment so can't get any more pix up or details.
Hi,
I've done a bit of investigating myself now....and totally confused. All blackies I can see have a white nut compared to the black/greyish one fitted to mine. This of course could be an aftermarker one of some sort. I was thinking for a while that the neck had been refinsihed a darker honey colour. However, what's more strange is the the truss rod hole on the ones on the web have a rodewood insert, my one doesn't.
Hmmmmmmmmmm!
Guys I think I will hold on to this due to the dubious nature of the history of it. I will inform my friend when I get back to UK as I'm pretty sure he also bought the neck in good faith.
Sorry for wasting your time guys, and thanks for the comments and heads up.
