You know you've tried nearly everything when you have a Antichthon.

these day most of my list is made up of pedals that I don't desperately want but might buy if I have:

    1) a load of spare i.e. birthday, money.

    2) a chance to buy one really cheap.

I gave it a lot of thought this year before getting the ARF as I wasn't sure if I ought to buy something other than pedals for a change, but apart from the occasional book/DVD/XBox game I don't really have anything I want. The Miku was not something I'd have spent my own money on ;)

My list has been made up of sandpaper and paint the last couple months. It'd be nice to start spending my pocket money on amps and pedals again! and imma have to buy an xbox1 or ps4 for fo4. I do have the Millimetric close to finish! Anyway this is about you Paul and you should buy the Judder !

I've gone for the Vitruvian Mod and I reckon that'll probably do me for a while (though never say never ;) ).

  • I've considered upgrading to the full-fat Judder on occasion, if I do, I'll put you down for mine?! ;)

Just been informed by Prymaxe that despite their statement that they'd sent me a return label, their subsequent discovery that I'm not in the US means that they haven't actually done so.

So now I have to arrange return shipping and hope that they reimburse me when it (hopefully) arrives.

I assume everyone has positive and negative stories for all the carriers ?

As long as I can get it tracked I guess it probably doesn't make a lot of difference.

I returned the ARF to Dwarfcraft and it arrived (according to USPS) at lunchtime on the 1st.

I emailed them to let them know that I was aware that it had arrived and was told that they hoped to get a look at it on the morning of the 2nd.

The weekend has been and gone (I try not to work on weekends so no problem there) and now it's around lunchtime on the 6th (their time).

I've had no response other than to confirm that they have it in their possession.

Here's the last youtube video I made to try and demo the issue I have with it - feel free to disagree with me if you must ;)  but I reckon that the noise made pretty much every time the momentary switch is pressed makes it fairly unusable.

just to clarify, the noise is an electrical crackle, not the mechanical sound of the switch.

  • Yeah, I probably wouldn't even plug that in again if I heard that noise, subtle as it is in the recording, it's pretty much constant.

    Hope it gets sorted.

Yes, that is unusable. That little crackle would drive me nuts.

Just like the memento then. check out 1min in.
I want that pedal so badly, but the click woul ddrive me nuts too.

I freaking hate pedals that pop, click and scratch  when they shouldn't

at least it's not just me :)

I'm expecting to hear that there isn't anything "wrong" with the pedal that I returned, which will leave me with the choice of trying to get my money back, finding someone with the electronics skills to make it work as it should or setting fire to it and putting the video on YouTube.

    Update: Message from Dwarfcraft.

"Hey Paul, We have tested your pedal extensively and it is working as intended. The slight crackle is inherent to the pedal and isn't something that can be fixed. I will have it back in the mail to you this afternoon. Thanks for your time. Best, Louise Hinz"

That's rubbish I've just watched your video and that crackle would drive me nuts.
0reaction image LOL 0reaction image Wow! 0reaction image Wisdom
  • Well that sucks. I would argue that a pedal that crackles as part of the design isn't fit for purpose. I would ask for a refund.

Whilst I'm tempted to get it back and burn it, it would leave me a little out of pocket, so I'm currently in conversation with Prymaxe to see if I can get it returned to them for a refund.

To cheer myself up I shall sit here and consider what I might buy with the refund

(ignoring the fact that I bought the Vitruvian Mod as a replacement when I first considered returning it ;)  )
