Thats the best SF700 I have seen to date.So many SF's sem to suffer abuse during their life time.

When i was a teenager i used to go to gigs by a band called 'So What' from Glasgow. The guitarist used one of these through a Marshall 2x12 (don't know model unfortunately) and it was one of the best rock sound I have ever heard live. Good memories!!

It's not the model you're after, but just noticed this lunchtime that a guy on my local gumtree (Norwich) has listed what looks like his entire collection of vintage Yamaha Electrics (mostly '70s/'80s SG models of varying types).  Seriously, there's about a dozen of 'em!

Hey @DarnWeight are they all pictured resting on wooden benches? If so he's been listing his collection for 18 months at least as they're not keenly priced. Impressive collection though

I'd just be a little wary of this guy. Not saying he's a bad egg or rotten apple or whatever, just that evidence tends to suggest that he's not fully clued up about his Yamahas, that his descriptions are not always as full as they might be and that he has been looking to corner the market. Read this page from Liam's superb Super Flighters page — https://yamahasuperflighters.co.uk/2016/01/24/how-not-to-get-a-good-deal/ (Liam told me this guy, Jay, had offered to buy ALL his Sfs, but he declined to do so as he wanted them to move on at fair prices). If you follow the link to the eBay posting referred to it's pretty clear it's the same guy, who goes by various different online identities, and who previously/sometimes seems to be based in Berwick-on-Tweed rather than Norfolk. As "Jay's Elite Vintage Rockers" he does seem to have a couple of SFs for sale (https://elitevintageguitars.com/category/yamaha-sf-1000/). Note prices. Just saying, that's all.

Not sure if you're still looking, but an SF700 just came up on Facebook ("Japanese Guitars (MIJ/CIJ) For Sale or Swaps UK" group).  It's in Widnes and the seller is asking £500.

That Yamaha guy has been trying to corner the market and push up prices for years. He bought an SG off me a while back under some kind of weird assumed identity then immediately listed it for sale on his website at x2 the price. Slippery customer
