Hi There,

I'm on a quest to find 10 great FX pedals (doesn't matter what kind... crazy, normal, modulation anything) to run through our new amplifier for a couple of videos to demonstrate the versatility of the FX loop and it's front mounted controls.

Any suggestions, no matter how odd, are welcome... then I'll try and track down the pedals for this video.

Thank you

I've only listened to reviews so can't speak for them personally but the Earthquaker Afterneath reverb and Space Spiral delay both sound weird and interesting.

That's way too complicated for me mate. Got any other suggestions?

Those pedals are nice but pretty steep, see if I can budget for one! Thank you

Sounds like a Star Trek lazer gun with the tone cranked.

Yeah, sorry, couldn't help myself  :)

Something like a POG2 where you really stretch the input frequencies at both ends. Some amps can take it, others not so much.

Probably anything by Rainger FX , the small ones are around £120 new. British, weird and wonderful.

  • Thanks for all the suggestions, I'm going to try and get my hands on some of these and see what horrible noises I can make.

Most weird pedals are often unusable in reality imho, but the Bitquest, Red Panda Particle and the El Cap (great sound-on-sound feature) are my faves.

Fairfield Circuitry Meey Maude delay and the Montreal Assembly Count to 5 are my top favourite 'weird and wonderful' pedals. I love em both dearly.

I also have a Bitquest, but I don't really find it weird or wonderful... it's more a 'boutique' multi fx (a very, very nice one I should add).

Perhaps not wholly on track with what you were thinking re individual pedals, but a lot of players use modelling mfx units so maybe it would be interesting to also consider how different units gel with the amp...perhaps mixing it up between the latest and greatest and older units.

    Just a suggestion.
