You mention translation services. How would you tackle that?
If people want to live in Britain they should speak English a simple tick box excercise on entry. There you go point one on the new immigration policy £millions saved on translation services.
So you'd stop translating for the people already here? What do you think the outcome of that would be?
Hopefully they would leave and stop being a drain on resources. They are probably the same people who choose not to integrate with society. English is not a difficult language to learn go and ask the billion people who can already speak it.
How many languages do you speak fluently?
    2 English and French

As long as they put the segregated ghettos in the north we will be fine.
That's just going to compound the issues in the North. The North needs investment and market forces - not ghettos and socialism.

Are people really in misery? Someone said that earlier.

i just don't see it but I do live in London.

I would suggest getting out of that bubble then.
London isn't a bubble. I can walk 5 minutes in Colindale and see deprivation and misery. The difference with London is, there *is* work here, and it goes from the least skilled to the most skilled. Outside of London, work is very thin on the ground - particularly if you're a white collar worker specializing in an industry.

Take me for example - either I continue to stay in London working at various audio technology companies, or I move out of London in which case I'm up shit creek. My options are fairly limited outside of a big city like London. So I put up with the high outgoings so I can maintain my interests and my profession.

I've never really liked all of the "that there London, with yer balls all shiny!" talk that a lot of non-Londoners engage in. People don't seem to understand, for people like me who don't want to work in a factory or a warehouse... we NEED places like London. It really is a place of opportunity - if you're prepared to fight for it.

And that is also why 'privilege' rings hollow to me. I've fucking fought to get where I am, and never had a leg up from anyone.
I think there's a few different things mashed into one post there.

    1. I wasn't referring to London being as a bubble per se. It was directed at Capo's own personal geographical bubble, for there is poverty in London as you rightly say. If he hasn't seen it, then he's not going to the right places.

    2. I totally agree on the bizarre attitudes a lot of non-Londoners engage in. Some have this idea that everything is handed to you on a plate the minute you get down to London.

    3. Privilege always rings hollow with me. I don't care who says it, anyone who tells me I'm privileged because I'm white and possess a dick will be told to fuck right off.

So definitely not trying to assert that living in London means you're instantly living in a bubble.

Of course there is poverty and deprivation in London there is also lots of people claiming poverty who can still buy the latest trainers from JD Sports and clothe their kids in the latest designer sportswear .....      always makes me laugh

What difference does that make?  If I was going to live in Greece I'd learn to speak Greek.

Another alternative would be to  bring your own translator along.  At your expense.

I know some ,not all bad people, not all good people.

    But...

£640,000 for two days a week plus bonus. I've seen the pay paperwork.

Before the 2008 crash I saw the Christmas bonus share out in an American bank I was working at.

    £8.5 Billion .

One guy got £50,000,000 for his bonus.

The cleaners had a £20 pay cut and half of them were laid off that Christmas.

No wonder their was a crash.

They can't possibly afford to pay the bottom of the pyramid more.

If he pulls that stunt expect 100% tariff on French cars, cheese, wine etc, we're a big market for French farmers & automobiles. Not to mention French interests in our water & power companies ... they'd be compulsorily reacquired !  Macron is a free-trade businessman first and foremost.

Imagine something sharp and witty here ......

Macron is a Europhile first and foremost and passionately believes, as do others, that if you leave the EU you should lose the benefits of membership. He's also an ex-banker who wants banks in London to relocate to Paris and Frankfurt - he wants the City of London to have no access to EU markets. He is a young radical.
