It comes in very early at 1:10. Short, yet perfectly formed.

4:40 in and all the way to the play out, Holdsworth at his most lyrical and accessible imho

Listen to the harmonising under Annette Peacock  bliss

    These two for me.

    2:27ish.

4:26, and particularly the bit from 4:50

Has to be zarabeth by holdsworth for me.
I would love to change my username, but I fully understand the T&C's (it was an old band nickname). So please feel free to call me Dave.

Are people just not mentioning comfortably numb as they think it's a Cliché?

Or Shine on for that matter.

In the context of a great song, the outro around 3:05, there are longer versions but you get the gist.

This always stirs up emotions for me, I've posted it a few times but it never gets old.

Probably because they have been done to death and the thread is a great vehicle for those solos that might be more unfamiliar ?

This is a classic with some wonderful playing by Tony Peluso - beautifully crafted solos played with great feel and passion.  and of course the utterly amazing and much missed Karen.  I don't think I've ever heard fuzz used so beautifully to this day.  Was it really 46 years ago? Jeeez.   Listen to the whole song, not just the solos - but the mid solo is 1:27 and outro around 2:50.  Just a classic!

I started out with nothing..... but I've still got most of it left (Seasick Steve)

This composition and this particular rendition of it could raise tears - for several reasons.

Nice to see a few Peter Green shouts on here...

I saw PG & TSG tour and assume you refer to the sadness of seeing PG as a complete shadow of his former self?

I love the original and I’ve copied a lot of the linked arrangement for my own instrumental version. One day I’ll get it all recorded.

I like the outro solo on live versions of Green Manalishi.

The guitar solo that still gets me is a David Gilmore's Comfortably Numb live solo. Shear mastery without the shredding. A great example of less is more. One of the most emotive solos out there, for me anyway :)
Indeed, but I’ll raise you Mark Knopfler’s Going Home, or Brothers in Arms if you want emotiveness and less is more.
I play guitar because I enjoy it rather than because I’m any good at it
