This is a players guitar, made up from the bits drawer of good quality parts.
The neck is just right not to small or big, with bigger frets for easy string bending.
The locking tuners are Planetwave Autotrims
The nut is hand cut out of really stiff bit of Bakalite (out of an old valve radio) which is a fantastic material for nuts as its very tough.
The body is fender mexican which came with the trem, which is screwed done tight as a hardtail.
The bridge saddles are Graph Tech String savers
The Pick ups are two Gibson P90's and a hot strat P'up in the middle position.
A decent five way and pots complete the guitar.
All in all its a players guitar which is worth more as the sum of parts rather than as a strat copy.
I put this together as i always fancied a holey strat after seeing Argent play on the beeb when I was a lad.
I assembled the guitar to see what it was like before doing the rest of the work on it and while it only had primer on the body as I wanted to see how it played before dismantling it to finish it off and spray it etc
I just fell in love with it as it was and gigged it for a couple of years without bothering to give it a pretty paint job.
To be honest I think it looked better ratty around the edges rather than shiny.
The P90's give it a ballsy edge but still retains the strat tones albeit with a lot more roar if required.
Think of it as a strat on steroids and you get the idea.
There's a few nice in between tones if you dial back the vol pot to clean up the gain on the amp
I'm in Exeter and would like £250 which is nothing considering the hardware on it and its uniqueness

Thats a good question Jef, i shall have to dig out some scales and get report back.
Its fairly light weight now but not to the point there's nothing around the neck and its still balanced
Surprisingly it hasn't effected the tone that much as the trem is screwed down to the body effectively making it a hardtail

There was a guy in the 70s who had a strat similar to that, but I can't remember his name.

I've seen a few like that about (worth a google) and often thought about doing it myself.
