I have an old Tele copy neck that someone swapped to a lefty, so the put bodged dots on the other side £15 plus postage ?
    Even I couldn't own a lefty ;)
No, its a right handed that someone decided to fit on a Lefty but they put bodged dots on the side, instant Mojo ;)

And after an all day dry bath.. with a rub back and clean up (it comes out quite green till you run it back!)

Pine really is satisfyingly rustic - especially for an Esquire.

The tru oil finish really is very light - it has some naturally acquired knocks and scrapes, so I cut it back to a satin with some wire wool and will leave it be.

I've used a reasonably old and crappy fender bridge (with a bit of accelerated ageing ;) ) and popped the Mojo Esquire pickup in..

Some suitably aged strap buttons, and an aged socket cup, and we have the basis of a pretty decent looking Esquire body...

Total cost as seen below £130..

The control plate is in for aging and relicing and I've dug out two old knobs for it. The plate came with the body with 2 CTS pots on, wired and ready to go. So I can pop this back on, wire it up and it awaits a neck all for a princely £130....!

Plate and Knobs ready to go on:

And here's the pots wired up - just need to wire in jack socket and pickup.

No comments I see, so you must all be bored with this ;)

Anyway, I'm carrying on regardless. Control panel is all wired up, tested and installed...

I really do just need a neck for this one now!!!

I really like the way this is going and it has inspired me to use up a load of parts I have cluttering the place up! I've found enough stuff to build a decent Strat, all I need  to source is 3x plain shaft knobs and a scratchplate.....

An old vintage tuner set which was still spotless and shiny required a bit of relic work to fit in with the theme of this project - cheap and cheerful but far too new looking!

Anyway, overnight in the vinegar bath and a good scrub this morning:

There will be people checking out this thread, hoping to pick up helpful hints or find the confidence to attempt a Partsocaster of their own. By making it look easy, you are doing two things.
    1) Demonstrating that it is easy to assemble a Fender style electric guitar.
    2) Creating a bunch of work for guitar techs, putting the finishing touches on project guitars that their owners could not quite manage. Ker-ching!

And 3) showing a few of us simple but effective relicing techniques.

    Keep the good work up @Bridgehouse ;
