Not a lot to discuss, really - as long as everybody's genuinely comfortable with the situation, let 'em fill their boots. I know a few people who are in this sort of relationship, and it works very well for them. They're also among the most relaxed and least insecure people I know.

I've known two poly- relationship sets of peeps.

Group 1 - Two mostly gay girls who each have a boyfriend of sorts... worked that way for years and years.

Group 2 - Couple (man+wife). Man likes sex, woman doesn't so encourages him to fill his boot elsewhere... he does, meets someone who he brings home, wife like... eventually they all move in together - into one bedroom. Turns out wife is mostly gay, and both women are sufficiently insecure and jealous that they can't share anyway. everything explodes, marriage over... now man is getting married to the mistress

Sometimes it all works just fine... other times, not so much

I remember getting introduced to a Goth once - "this is Zarathustra, she's polyamorous" - "Ah, a slut" was my reply I think she felt that spoilt her mystique - seemed to be expecting every man in the room to be after her - she was pretty to look at, but ... ah well

The idea of a nuclear family is a reasonably modern invention, it's probably responsible for many of people's hang-ups
