    5:00am PDT, so noon GMT?

    Where is it then?

Kidding - PDT is 1pm here. Not noon.
    Yeah 1PM British Summer Time.

The "Buy Now" link is giving a 404.  I'm interested to see the Pod Farm crossgrade price...

    EDIT : It's fixed.

  • Pretty noob question here, but are the sounds in Native representative of the exact tones available in the Helix hardware?

Downloaded, tried it under Reaper in Linux/WINE....dead in the water. Not really a reflection on Helix Native itself (I'm sure they don't test under that environment), but...gives me a sad face :(

Oh well, I was hoping for a cumulative discount price for having a Helix LT and Podfarm Platinum. Seems that's not to be.
I'll have to save my pennies.

    It's not a competition.

  • Ah, Mac! :-(

    EDIT: Ah, Windows 10! :-)

    It will work on Mac

    Mac Computers:

    • Mac OS X 10.10 and 10.11 & macOS 10.12
    • 64-bit AAX Native, Audio Units (AU), VST3 host DAW software
    • Supported Sample Rates: 44.1 kHz, 48 kHz, 88.2 kHz, 96 kHz

  • Hoping to try this out very soon.  The price for full Helix users is a total no brainer IMO, it's still competitive at full price given the amount of stuff in it though

Initial reaction .. I'm seriously underwhelmed. Who designed the user interface? I get that this is what you'd want on a hardware unit but for a DAW it's really poor. POD Farm looks way better and that's dated.

Amplitube's interface is in a different league ...

    What about the tones though?

I have AT4 already and a bunch of packs from the AT3 era, but have held off on buying the newer packs (Mesa etc) waiting on Helix Native.

Ugly interface ... Helix top with Amplitube bottom

What's ugly about it?? It's just not skeuomorphic. But I think it looks nice and modern.

Also they had screenshots of the GUI on the early announcement pages, so you can't be too surprised!

  • While I prefer circular dials to lines it doesn't bother me that it doesn't look like an amp. Ideally if it sounds good you don't spend that much time in an interface tweaking anyway, and this will match up to the units I think which keeps the experience consistent for HW users

OK .. there's early doors .. I tried a US Small Tweed (Helix) against Amplitube's Champ and Amplitube sounded better to my ears. Caveat - I've only just got Helix whereas I've been an Amplitube user for years so I need time to play before I can give an objective view on which is better.

    I think it's a shame Line 6 haven't provided any presets.

I am not a fan of interfaces with virtual "knobs", give me sliders any day of the week.

Aye...for aesthetics, it's nice to have knobs and graphics. For actual use and predictability, it's much better to have sliders.

Of course, I really wish I could see any of that right now :D

Apart from the massive amount of presets that I'm looking at, you mean?

Unless you don't get presets in the Trial version?
