    No it doesn't have to but just trying to avoid extra cables etc. Also I'm using a looper/switcher that when muted will turn on the tuner etc. I think the Korg would work and that's a reputable tuner :)
    If you're using a looper you'd only need to plug into the input though from the tuner out though right? Saves a plug's width...

    I found the TC Polytune Mini to be quite noisy when it's engaged, so I've kind of ignored it since I got rid.
    Yeah, a sort of rumbling noise.

    All my pedals run off a daisy chain except my M5s, which are also noisy if not isolated. I wonder if using an isolated supply would fix the issue with the Polytune.
    Mine was noisy on a daisy chain too.  It's been completely silent since it got its own isolated supply on my power plant jr.
