Interesting .. this woman is a little part Japanese .. I'd have thought there would have been some contact through trade with China/Russia etc.

I know a chap who's had a number of DNA tests from different companies. While there are similarities, each come back with different results in terms of his ancestry mix.

It's not an exact science.

I've had the idea of doing that (never bothered though.)

one idea is to have several friends register for the service, provide all the spit samples yourself, and collect all the results together and look.

Apparently (I have heard) we're all so interbred most of us are related to Vikings, ancient celts, the older royal families, Charlemagne and any number of glamorous identities so they can correctly give you a different answer every time.

It's also worth remembering that - like all species - all modern humans share a single common ancestor.

Our one was small, brown and lived in East Africa.

My mother and her brother have had this done, nothing mind boggling in our ancestry unfortunately, make of it what you will but you are still who you are.

I can't understand it but those videos moved me to tears. I'm suffering with flu at the moment so I'll blame that, but I'd appreciate it if others confirmed that there's something quite intense and awesome about it.
