When my PC is returned, it will have very little software other than Windows 10 installed. What email package do you guys suggest I use. Up to now I have a free system, email tray I think it was called, but this had not much in the way of spam management. Thanks for your help guys, much appreciated.

    I use Gmail mostly

But as a program on the PC I use Mozilla Thunderbird. It's free and seems to work well

I use yahoo as a personal email, I don't have any issues with it, it's been very good. It's actually better at sorting spam than the all-singing, all-dancing one I use at work, so I've never bothered with a 'proper' email programme.

Windows 10 has a built in email programme. Never used it though (except to turn off notifications) so I don't know how well it works.

For Windows 10 you will have to set up an Outlook.com email so you could set that up now. [EDIT: apparently not. But it does steer you in that direction so it can seem as if this is obligatory.]
I did that when I knew I'd have to migrate from 7 to 10.
Got a 10 machine, logged in with the outlook email, then set about dismantling all unnecessary Microsoft and corporate bollocks -- of which there is fecking tons.
    But eventually all's well.
And to answer your question @Rocker -- gmail.

I use EMClient and Thunderbird. I have no idea if either supports your email provider.

A lot of IT people use Thunderbird, and Mozilla's Firefox for their browser. Their arguments are features, compatibility, and security.

I subscribe to an annual Office 365 Home account for £79/yr.  We use Google G Suite for email. It's a robust solution. If I was looking for something free I would use Gmail in the browser.

    Another Thunderbird user.

The default email program that comes with Win10 is rubbish.

I've used Gmail for years without any hassle.

Thunderbird here - I have 20+ email accounts (historical reasons), 5 of which I use regularly, so using web clients isn't an option. Thunderbird is fast, and handles large amounts of mail very well - I have around 120GB of mail in there, and it's absolutely fine. Takes a few seconds to start up even on SSD, but once it's there it's fine.

I wouldn't make any suggestions until I understood a little more about your requirements.

What email service or services do you use?
Do you want email to be available across a range of devices or just your Win10 PC?
If so, what are those other devices?
Do you use anything alongside email (like a calendar)?
Having trouble posting images here?  This might help.
