Is the search function supposed to be terrible, or am I missing something?

It's a question of money. The forum doesn't have money to spend on things like that. Have you tried Google search?

It is rather awful. You can do a google search like this:

Gibson Sucks site:thefretboard.co.uk

Its still very poor. Something as simple as being able to search within a sub-forum, or a least getting the resuits in date order would be nice so you don't have to trawl through results from four years ago.

It's not the best, BUT it is a free forum.

If we want one like TGP, I guess we'll all have to dig deep and pay for it.

but it comes up on my iPad ( full site rather than mobile version on there though).
