For sure we are!

Actually, your walnut photos have inspired me to dig out a walnut topped, korina, LP body that I put away a good few months ago when I decided I really disliked the (Wudtone - pay) finish that I'd done on it.

It's now at the half-re-rubbed-down stage, getting rid of the original finish, with the intention of oiling it.

Single piece English walnut top - it'll be worth the effort.

Thank you.. Cant ask for more than that.. Ive nearly always had a creative job and the one thing you hope all of that work and effort will do ( was computer games for many years) is help provide enjoyment and maybe if you are lucky some inspiration... And really all of this is my small way of contributing and hopefully giving back to the things that inspired me.

And that build sounds cool.. I look forward to seeing the thread

Just a quickie today.

Got the wiring done on both builds and did the last few bits on the second walnut build but didn't take many pics..

Just of the wiring... I thought it best to leave the oil to dry for as long as possible before I buff and put it all together even thought that's just one more night I think it better

So heres the wiring.. I always use a template like this which I get off the actual hole positions on the body (since I don't use templates for that (I probably should start, it would make some things easier for me).. That way I get it exactly right.

I always use a mini alligator clip as a heat sink to try and avoid damaging the cap with the heat from the iron.

Yeah ive done a few now.. Im not sure fun is the word .. More like extreme tiredness fuelled by adrenalin from the nervousness/excitement... Something like that

but its fine, it needs to be done, hopefully it will be worth the effort. Its a three day show.

So there we go.. All done in time for the show.. JUST, I will obviously keep an eye on the neck since its only just got its strings on.. But I had a quick play.. All is working and its playing great.

When I get back to normal work next week I will finish the second Walnut guitar.. And it will mean ive done two in just over a month which isn't too bad.. And the only reason I wanted to put that to the test was because ive never really done it to a time scale before.. Usually I just go at it nice and easy. So its just good to know what I can do when I want or if (hopefully) I ever need to
