I learnt in a manual but have only driven autos since passing, piece of piss just like driving a dodgem, especially in the big smoke.

Tip: don't take your test at Hendon (if it's still a test centre?). It's on the corner of a narrow road and it's an arsehole to manoeuvre or park round there.

I find I'm generally OK driving if I keep saying "this is not Grand auto theft ... this is reality"

It was such a let down the day I forgot, I was sure I beat my high score.

Yeah instructor said the same thing. He said go to Mill Hill instead.
