I am now the proud owner of this little beauty - a Yamaha SA2200 in Violin Sunburst, made in September 2009 if I have interpreted the serial number correctly.

I've never been a big fan of bling-tastic guitars, not least because I'm a bit of a clumsy git and I don't trust myself with them. But I was on the lookout for a semi-acoustic, and this one takes me right back to my youth, and the vision of loveliness that was on the front of the Yamaha catalogue I sent off for when I first started playing. That was actually an SG3000S I think, but it was similarly a sunburst with gold hardware, and this is close enough to make the 15 year old in me very, very happy.

I'm still getting to know it, but it has a smooth, airy sound, is very comfortable to play (including standing up, which I wasn't expecting) with a slim, fairly shallow neck, and is superbly constructed. And did I mention it's gorgeous? :-)

Thanks to @Chalky for the guitar & the cuppa, pleasure to meet you.
