The black plastic piece slides, away from the cable.

My mistake, it's the metal ones which slide. The plastic one lifts at the end nearest the cable.

At least it does on the one I have here :).

Does it have a metal part sticking through the end of the plastic at the top (where we can't see?)
if so the the part near the threaded bit lifts up , hinging on the aforementioned metal part

  • Get a pointy thing, point it in above the cable so it is touching the underside of that black cover, push the cover from inside - jobs a carrot, you are now holding a plug attached to a cable and the black cover is somewhere on the floor

The metal piece has two small 0.5mm studs which stick up into indentation in the plastic, preventing it sliding. Lift the cable end of the plastic with a knife blade and it will slide open.
