Just been offered a trade of a PRS SE  Bernie Marsden with Montys Handwound PAF Pickups in. Had a quick look and they look decent and expensive. Guitar will come with the original pickups too, is it worth putting them back in and selling the monty ones separately? Don't know much about them and their resale value.

The pickups have a very good reputation.  The guitar will probably sound better with them in.

I'd keep them in there, but keep the originals in a drawer somewhere.  If you ever come to sell it then you will make more money putting it back to stock and selling the Montys pickups separately.

I was going to sell both ... thought I might maximize the profit by selling the pickups separately and the guitar stock. :-)

They're excellent PAFs. Someone will snap them up pretty quick I'd wager. Whip them out and sell them separately if you want to make maximum profit.

If you are going to sell then yes split to maximize sales/profit - The Monty p/ups are desirable enough on their own, but I don't think you'll be able to add the same value to the PRS BM - again the PRS BM should be easy enough to sell

I can't say enough good things about Monty's PAFs.

Put the original pickups back in the PRS and sell it. Then buy yourself a really good LP and put the Monty's in.

From what I've heard, that's probably the bestest answer you're going to get.

Even if it might cost you a bit
    ;)
Having trouble posting images here?  This might help.

Matt @ Monty's just fitted a set of PAFs on my R7. They are unbelievably good and have taken an already great instrument into another stratosphere. Think tele levels of articulation but with classic humbucker punch and girth.

Mike Bradley posted a video of his new Monty’s PAF’s the other day. Even to my untrained ear over YouTube they sounded like a massive improvement on his LP. They really sounded incredible.
