That was a name thought up by my former boss at Shadow Guitars in Grermany : Joe Marinic

I don't know how Thommann ended up with it as a house brand.

I have always wondered about where they got the name, and even more so why they didn't just brand the guitars and kit with the Thomann name. Given their position in the industry surely this would carry rather more kudos than the name 'Harley Benton'?  Perhaps it sounds more impressive in German!
