Jeez. Both Fripp & Levin will be 162 years old!

Seriously, The London Palladium one should be a goody as that's a smaller-sized venue

Obviously a fan with a Lark's tongue avatar!

KC have been off my radar since Discipline. I have no idea what they are doing now

If Belew was there, I'd be there. Real shame.

He is the reason I picked up a guitar.

*An Official Foo-Approved guitarist since Sept 2023.

This re-incarnation doesn't sound too shabby though James....

Quite possibly my favourite band axisus. Followed the music since the mid 70's..understood them for considerably less time than that!!

  • When Fripp set up the current lineup in 2014, and booked a US tour, I was so worried that they'd never play in Europe before stopping again, I went to New York to see them. Then they advertised a European tour in late 2015 (I think) and I went to see them again in Birmingham. Now they're actually playing again on my doorstep (Bournemouth) I find myself undecided by the idea. If only they were developing some new material, but I doubt they are.

I loved the Discipline-era quartet. Saw them at the long-demolished Hammersmith Palais.

I was a big fan of everything up to discipline, I have it all on vinyl. Didn't gel with either Beat or Three of a perfect pair and haven't heard a note since them.

Frippin' 'ell. I'd love to go to a King Crimson gig. I think I last saw them live 25 years ago, maybe more.

What year was that mate? I think I was at that one too...Cavendish Building? flagging memory..

I saw Fripp play with The League of Gentlemen at The Russell Club..remember that one? The bouncers outnumbered the punters, Fripp started the gig with " we're a dance band...." and then said fuck all for the rest of the night. Nobody danced.

Gutted. £130 plus postage for 2 tickets, plus fuel, parking and food.
We'll probably just put the Radical Action Blu-Ray on again.  :/

    It's a bit bloody strong isn't it. £144 for 2 in Manchester..not including parking, drinks and a nosh after. It's a £250 night out.

I've just belled me mate, who I've been going to gigs with for 40 years,to see if he and his missus want to join us, he burst out laughing, told me to fuck off and put the phone down.

I think he has a point. I'll be swerving this too, I've twice put 2 tickets in my basket, and twice I haven't hit the pay button. Too much dough in my humble.

The first site wanted over £300, but I think you got some other stuff in addition to the show.

I won't be paying it. I would if I had some kind of guarantee that id have a good view, people around me wouldn't talk, and I wouldn't have to constantly stand up for people squeezing out to get their 9th beer of the night. Not going to happen though.

I remember when I went to see Bjork in 2008 and tickets were £40. It was a massive decision to pay that at the time, but these days I find myself wishing gigs were that price.

Actually, it probably is. One of the conditions of entry is no cameras. Before the gig starts the band play their recorded announcement asking people just to "be in the moment". At NY and Birmingham there were no people getting out their phones. One person in NY tried and security were there within a flash.

With this repertoire, at these prices, people seem to treat the event as a concert recital, not a gig. Which makes sense, I guess.

  • I saw them in Edinburgh few years ago. It was very much like a recital rather than a gig.  Couldn't re-enter until the song finishes. No phones to be used, no noise during the songs.... It was a bit odd I must say.  Although I did end up doing some weird dancing down then front right at the end with some others. Levin even commented on it in his blog.
