  • Always in a box from Amazon. I use the £1.99 next day locker service, I've ordered stuff at 9pm and it's their by 11am, can't fault it
    Nobody is guaranteed tomorrow.....

  • Always well packaged for me..

I ordered some Tefal Ingenio induction pans the other Sunday at 12:17 pm and they arrived that tea time. Superb

  • Normally I get Amazon orders sent to a local pickup locker, don't have time to sit around all day waiting for delivery. Usually well packaged. What I find weird is when I do get it delivered to my door unmarked vehicles with plain clothed strangers are delivering them, I don't have a clue who they are if they don't have a package. Could be anyone turning up to rob my house!

My wifes nan was burgled once, a kid climbed through the bathroom window, opened the front door to two blokes in overalls in a van who casually emptied anything of value into the van, even stopped for a chat with the neighbour and told them the inhabitants were moving away!

Yeah happened to me couple of times as 57 Deluxe says in his opening post label stuck on main item box making it look ugly if it's a present. Then I noticed the text they put close to where you select delivery method.  It says item will be visible...what they mean is it won't come in an outer box so you get the label stuck on your item box...watch out for that when you order it's easy to ignore it.

Also watch out for the "frustration free" packaging trick they sometimes put on the order...what they mean is it's been returned and whoever returned it either damaged original box or had lost it so Amazon stick it in their own packaging but so as not to cause any suspicion say they are trying to help you by putting it into an easy to open box. What it really is is a second hand item

Amazon - successfully screwing customers, employees, couriers and the tax man since 1994. Jeff Bezos says 'thanks' as he's now officially richer than Bill Gates.

Remember, it's easier to criticise than create!

Do what I do: don't buy from Amazon.
    There are other retailers left?
I avoid Amazon and will search out other retailers instead - they do exist!

Yeah, off the top of my head I've had a motherboard and an oculus rift come in just the retail packaging.

Has anybody noticed that the Prime now says delivery by a certain day, usually 2-3 days rather than delivery will be tomorrow.

I thought they put returned items in the Warehouse Deals section?

Yes they do with some stuff.  Lost count of amount of camera lenses I bought off Amazon that were used and sold as new

  • We seem to get a couple fo amazon delivery's per day at the moment.  The only thing that has arrived that has not been in a Amazon box was quite clearly the kids christmas present to me.  I took it from the delivery driver and have had to pretend I didn't see that they have bought me a telescope .

i am pleased to report that the hurriconoe-style hairdryer i wanted is now with me after i used that camel thing to track it when the price went back down (i made a bitchy post about amazon's 'dynamic pricing' system a few weeks ago).

it arrived promptly in a solid brown external amazon box, and i'm not even in Prime (except in the Jean Brodie sense). maybe because Prime is expedited they don't have time to pack?

I haven't noticed but am waiting for 2 packages so will check.  My really big p1sser with Amazon is I pay for prime to get "free next day delivery"  everything takes 2 days, thats not next fricking day is it.  I know 1st world problems and all that but that isn't what I was promised.

    Ba5tards....
Genuinely not my finding as I order loads from Amazon...

Very rarely has it not been next day on Prime, or often same day is available. I guess it depends upon location ?
I've found Prime next day often takes an extra day since moving to Bristol from London. London was pretty solid. I was right next to a dispatch warehouse though. Didn't know you could get freebies out of missed targets, might have to put in a cheeky phone call :+1:

  • Honestly ?

Best service Ive ever had is from Amazon; I do so much shopping through them... if Ive had an issue, the Customer Service is superb.

Now, I DO try to order through Amazon direct (or whatever they call it)... and NOT a retailer working through them...

I nearly always choose Prime too
