Well we have seen the crazy expensive custom ones..  These prices even though are still a bit expensive for a slab model seem a bit more reasonable..

Hmmm, the RD Artist.... No offence - but I bet apart from @HarrySeven precisely no one wants one of those - and I’d imagine he already has one....

I like all of those, but I do wish the RD was maple and had unusual electrics.  And they shouldn’t use multiply tort of the DC, looks cheap

I want to like the Anniversary RD but, to be a proper RD, it should be almost entirely maple and of 25.5" scale length. No doubt, modern active humbuckers will prove more practical than A8 monsters coupled to a compander circuit.

To me, the quirkiness of the original RD series was a large part of their appeal. It is also why the majority of potential purchasers rejected it. Without the quirks, the design amounts to an unconvincing halfway house between a Firebird and an Explorer.

*I've missed one or two reasonably-priced ones over the last year or so.

Yeah I was gonna mention that..  The one on the RD is nice.. But it will only serve to confuse people in the future who will think they look older than they are

like the look of the RD, but not enough to buy a new one. not sue i like the idea of active pickups, cant see the point of them

Yet again Gibson in “almost getting it right” shocker...

Tbh, the original RD weighed about the same as a small hatchback thanks to all that maple so maybe it’s an improvement?

The "almost right" is deliberate I'm certain - this then leaves them scope to make sure they can charge 3K for a custom shop Jr with everything in the correct place.
