Nice.  I like the way you have 4 without even venturing into the murky world of non standard pickup configurations!

I have a 50's type maple / swamp ash and am hankering after a alder / rosewood board tele.

  • IMO one is one too many, but that's 'cos I'd rather have something else ;)
"Working" software has only unobserved bugs. (Parroty Error: Pieces of Nine! Pieces of Nine!)
Seriously: If you value it, take/fetch it yourself

'59, '66, '70, then '67 for me I think.  They all look great.  How do they all sound different if that's not too boring to answer? and to muddy the waters (he had a lovely red one) have you ever considered going all in and swapping these for one vintage e,g, a '66 or whatever?

@thebreeze - I know someone with a real and all original 59 and yes, it had crossed my mind to sell everything and have just one.

Original 59 being super lightweight and a maple neck that plays like butter.
    But £15k? Hmmm

59 reissue - very hot Abby Ybarra pups, ten radius feels way smaller than the other guitars, seriously lightweight. CS quality identical to a masterbuilt 59 tele I had previously.
Very very easy to play - a credit to fender CS.

66 - Braz neck feels like a bass, straight and resonant. Nice lightweight. Awesome sound, very mellow, from the original pups. Just wants to be thrown around.

67 - Same neck as the 66 but more rounded and feels fatter even though its a B neck.  Lightweight but heavier with the Bigsby and stays in tune, which surprised me. Lindy pups kick.

70 - Can't beat a blonde tele with a maple neck, just plays like butter and feels and sounds a little mellower.
Dare I say, possibly my favorite but more for the colour!
Neck pup is stunning, bridge pup is a bit iffy and posibly got a wiring prob as it's massively trebley!

They're all brilliant guitars - I can't really put one above the other....

They all look brilliant I have to say.  I'm interested that the '66 and '59 have bigger/wider headstocks or is that just the photo?  I love a neck pickup on a Tele - maybe I'll revise and go for the '70! (with the bridge when you say wiring problem, do you think it needs rewinding or just that the wiring to the tone pot has come loose or something?)

Not a bad start....call us back when you get to 15 and we'll consider your membership into the Elite Tele Club. I once had four of the same model Cunetto Nocaster just in different colours, so don't feel too bad...yet. Great guitars you have there.

The blonde one is my favourite. As it happens, a telecaster has recently solved my all my guitaring problems. The neck pickup is great, the bridge pickup is great. What more do you need? And to think I hated them when I was a 16 year old noob...

Sea-foam green, good buy at £2K from Ebay ?

0reaction image LOL 0reaction image Wow! 0reaction image Wisdom
  • @schmo - sea foam green / sonic blue - yep, took a punt on the one one ebay.
Not the best photos or description but turned out to be a really nice guitar.
I presumed it was a parts guitar or none original, after a quick chat with the seller and then I actually missed the end of the auction and noone bought it for £2k, would you believe?
Seller then relisted it for £3.5k and wouldn't sell it to me for £2k and I had to pay more - damn.
Really nice chap selling it, funding a house purchase and trying to sell loads of old guitars.
Turns out this was bought from Atoyboy in 2005 on ebay for £1150 and he give me the receipt/ print of the original listing.
Yep, you read that right - £1,150.
