I'm no expert but the thing that I noticed were the machineheads being really low on the headstock. Then I googled "LP Custom headstock" and compared - the decal inlay thing is far too small on this guitar as well

Probably other things wrong with it too but I can't spot anything wrong with the body or neck. Maybe fretboard should be darker?

Screw heads on the bridge posts are an obvious give away.

Classic giveaway is cheap far-eastern bridge posts with slotted heads for adjustment, rather than thumbwheels.

The bridge with large, slotted height studs is a giveaway.  And the fretboard doesn't look like ebony or Richlite.

I have to say though, I've seen much worse.

A whole bunch of features on that Chibson are wrong. Providing detailed explanations of exactly what is wrong just hands the fakers the opportunity to produce more accurate forgeries next time.

Things that could lose eBay/PayPal money, they pursue avidly.

Things that could lose guitar manufacturers money, not so much.

Rickenbacker defends its name and trademark vigorously. Gibson is a bit distracted at the moment.

Spotted bridge posts, squinty headstock, rosewood fretboard on a “Custom”, no fret binding nibs are the obvious clues, 

It also has an air of “cheap fake” about it in general, possibly in the way the finish shines in the pictures. It just doesn’t quite look like a nitro-finished Gibson

It's much better to publicise the differences.

The fakers actually know very well what the details are - not because they read these forums but because all they need to do is get hold of a real Gibson and look at it.

But it isn't - currently - economically necessary to get everything right, so they don't bother.

The way he has used cloths to protect the guitar in his pics suggest to me that the seller may believe it’s genuine... perhaps he’s in for a nasty shock!

I'm absolutely no expert, but to me the headstock decal looks really badly done. Apart from the paint finish not looking 'right' that's the only thing I noticed.
