Epiphone Les Paul Express 3/4 action advice

My daughter has been watching me learning to play and she wants to play too so I bought her the Epiphone Les Paul Express 3/4 as she's a petite 8 year old. Anyway its a nice guitar but the action is quote high and its a swine to keep in tune. Playing an Open E it doesn't sound quite in tune even though the open strings are so I am thinking it needs some adjustment.

Anyone care to share some wisdom on how this relative newbie could look to improve it? I have attached a few pictures which may help.

Thanks
Chris

normal setup stuff.   the saddles are quite high so you definitely have room to lower them.

It may well have been set high for a reason.  The nut is clearly high too.. hard to say if the truss rod needs a tweak fromt eh pics..   it looks like it needs a full set-up to me, but given the value its probably worth trying yourself

    What do you have it tuned to?  Try A - D - G - C - E - A

  • I just want it setup as the standard EADGBE tuning so she can eventuality play along with me
