WTB - Fender Custom Shop Telecaster / Nocaster bargain

Hi all,
A work mate of mine is looking to to the plunge on a CS Tele / Nocaster or similar. Hoped there may be a tasyty bargain to be had?

Ideally 21 fret, U Shape neck but anything considered.

Any help would be awesome!

The law of GAS suggests that when advertising a WTB, it’s only non-bargain-priced examples that get offered!

I haven't seen a bargain Nocaster in a long time - gone are the days of picking them up for less than £1500.

I bought and sold mine for £1600.
There's one from 2005 in GAK at the moment, priced at £1999.

I sold my sunburst '63 FCS relic Tele for 1500 a couple of years back 

(and bitterly regret it, ...)

I looked at the GAK one on Saturday - it’s an NOS and therefore all shiny and new-looking.

It's not a light one though. My Nocaster relic weighed less than air, it surprised me every time I took it from the stand. The one in GAK is more weighty....

The price is reasonable but when I read “Needs a setup to suit the buyer” I wonder what kind of state it’s in...!

Maybe he's just being honest if it's a new guitar? Everyone likes to play differently and a new guitar will have a factory setup. It's not hard to setup a guitar though so I wouldn't have even mentioned it assuming it plays OK.

I have a cracker for sale. Neck is not the full fat Nocaster but it is a nice size and balance.

I've not seen a Custom Telecaster neck in maple before, didn't they come out in '59 in RW?
