I went to webuyanycar once. Online quote was around £2000.
Dude was a joke when I got there. Knocked £100 off for every little dent and scratch he could find (I declared them all on the online quote form by the way!). He then went around the car with his paint thickness gauge and actually tried telling me the car had been resprayed...
    So knocked another £500 off..

Er, pretty sure it hadnt mate!

I then went to wewanyanycar. A quick test drive later he offered the £2000.
They didnt tell me until I got there that there are fees which they deduct from the price.. but still, they gave me a grand more than wbac!

Makes you wonder what money is in it for them? It's a 15 year old car that sounds like it could have issues that will cost money diagnosing and fixing.

Edit - ok just worked out you're not the OP, doh!

eBay. Probably won’t get much, but it’ll sell.
And then the buyer will claim (1) it didnt arrive (2) the cat converter needs replacing (3) wrong colour, and raise a refund with Ebay.

Alternatively, and as long as you’re not expecting any money for that 15 year old car, you could leave it parked up in Liverpool (or Birmingham) with the keys in the ignition.
You may not even need to leave the keys in it. It will disappear anyaway

eBay. You'd be surprised. Sold my wife's ancient Mondeo V6 quickly for a lot more than it was worth. Guy collected and paid cash.

There will be demand for an MG. eBay covers the whole country.

Remember, it's easier to criticise than create!

Funnily enough I’m on the lookout for a two seater - but a Z3 for resto/project.

MGTF’s are nice - specially the 160 - but not my sort of thing

MG Owners Club. There'll be someone with a rotten one or with cat know-how who can use bits or turn it around.

You should drive it round town then reverse into into another car making yours a write off and claiming whiplash and say it affects your sex life and get the compensation you 'deserve' : )

We'll buy any car is fine, you might get more from a local scrappy, either way not a lot, these two are the least aggro for you methods.

I would take that to Trading Standards! They clearly state that they want any car.

If it was me I' ram raid the local offie and make off with as much booze as I can carry (after removing any identifying bits and bobs OFC)

I'm not locked in here with you, you are locked in here with me.

I'd definitely put a Gumtree ad in. Takes 5 minutes and a complete shot to nothing. Perfect time of year to be selling a convertible. Good luck shifting it.
