Anyone know where to get a male USB B to male mini B cable

ideally a foot long with angled plugs, but longer and straight plugs would do.  Can't find one anywhere.  It's to connect a midis USB controller to a zoom ms50g

Normally I’d say DIY, but having done so I’m not sure I’d do it again.

"Mini USB" ? Several variants can you give makes and models and a good photo of the port?

I have a box full of odd USB cables, if I can match it up you are welcome to it.

    Dave.

The pic of the cable is only to show the mini end. I want a USB type B on the other end like the one used on a Helix or most printers

Cheers @mick. Looks like I'm going to have to do something like that, there doesn't seem to be a ready made cable anywhere

Right, get a cheapo A-B and a one with that miniplug then cut off the ones you don't need and just 'twist slice' the wires, bit of Elastoplast if y like.

This will bugger the ultimate speed of the cable but MIDI controllers are USB 1.1 AFAIK so I bet it will be fine.

The crunch issue is if the two cables have different colours? If so study the 'pin outs' very carefully on Wiki but so long as you don't send the 5V DC somewhere it didn't orta be you should be ok.

Cheer Dave, was hoping for an off the shelf solution, looks like that's the route I'm heading down though

@John_A  I was going to say Amazon is your friend, but a cursory look through several pages doesn't help, as you (and others) have discovered. Ebay .... same. Everything but the one you want.

I had similar problem in needing a USB-C 3.1 (male) to USB 3.0 Micro B (male) cable. Eventually found Belkin did one. And I looked, but no, Belkin don't appear to do a USB B (male) to USB Mini-b (male). Ditto Lindy.

Mick suggested a certain hard adaptor to complement the cable he posted. However instead of that, I suggest a 'cable adapter' as pictured, which might give you a little more flexibility at the pedal.

PS Mr Heath "ecc83" Robinson above is surely having a laugh.....

Hang on is it for a helix?
The Bigsby was the first successful design of what is now called a whammy bar or tremolo arm, although vibrato is the technically correct term for the musical effect it produces. In standard usage, tremolo is a rapid fluctuation of the volume of a note, while vibrato is a fluctuation in pitch. The origin of this nonstandard usage of the term by electric guitarists is attributed to Leo Fender, who also used the term “vibrato” to refer to what is really a tremolo effect.
