PSA - Fake Monty's Pickups on eBay

A set of cheap ceramic magnet pickups being passed off as Monty's 'Full Monty' Strat pickups. Reported, but given eBays usual lax attitude to fraud I thought I would warn potential purchasers on here. The lying scamming so-and-so even reckons he had them wound especially for himself - not!

The third picture is a dead giveaway.

Have you got in contact with Matt at Montys?  If he got in contact with Ebay as the company owner, then they would probably have to act.

Full Monty's don't have slug steel polepieces with ceramic magnets glued to the bottom. The pickups for sale are as far from boutique as is possible. Probably from an entry level Mexican Strat, or possibly far east Strat pickup.

Those great big dual magnets on the bottom of each pickup, cheap ceramic pickups not Alnicos.

Notice the dodgy seller also states the 'no-returns' bs in terms and conditions. Presumably anyone unhappy would be told the pickups were clearly displayed in the listing.

Are you suggesting someone had a set of Monty's made for their MIM Strat, and found a naughty way of getting rid of the OEM pickups?

They look identical to my 2017 Fender Mexican Standard pickups, including wiring colours, white-black, yellow-black x2, down to the little piece of tape holding the wires together.

I wonder how many famous guitars have issues with them - now covered by stickers - Alvin Lee's 335 for starters

How do we know that's a genuine Terry Morgan and not some fake?
