have never been a mustang/bronco/duosonic person, but the stripped down simplicty of yours really works.
i don't think you need a scratchplate. the minimal and uncluttered lines thing is what makes it different.

    nice build, @WezV
hofner hussie & hayman harpie. what she said...

    It's reminding me of a G&L SC-1. That's not a bad thing!
Can't sing, can't dance, can handle a guitar a little.

I should add, it’s likely going to get a large truss rod cover/headstock plate as I made a boo boo when routing the truss rod slot and it goes a bit further than I would like.

Whatever i I do for that will likely be matched with the scratchplate.

I am thinking of aged aluminium.  The guitar will be reliced with some of its gold base coat peeking through

If you're relicing is there any scope to going right back to the wood and showing some of that interesting figuring on the back?

This sort of thing but on the back.

its possible, but its really in the wrong place for that and i feel it would juts look odd.   Novo guitars have done some with that idea

    more  plate ideas

nothing to stop me covering the existing route either

The flick at the end is similar to the plate on this:

(They do a red version as well)

The top half of the first plate you did looks better. Sleek rather than bulbous. IMO.

If going for a plate I think the first one looks best, aged ally and a bit of relication sounds cool

Reviving this one now since i'm in a duo-sonic frame of mind.

I went with a different plate design, decided to do it in aluminium, and i have just done an engraving on it as i wanted a bit more practice with that

This is the engraving so far, still a bit to do but i'm happy with the way its going

I know what you mean, I like the old zemaitis style of engraving but it certainly doesn't suit everything.

I've been enjoying some of the engravings from indra guitars on Instagram and it got me wanting to have a go again, and I'm not sure I like this guitar so it made sense to use it to practice something like this.

My preference is for the image to be in the right orientation in the playing position, I think it looks more “right”
