Groan, these jokes are giving me a haddock
Roland said: Scales are primarily a tool for categorising knowledge, not a rule for what can or cannot be played.

Squier did come out of Mexico in the mid 90's, there was the Fender Squier Series which had a Fender logo, a Black one too, but the photos are too blurry to make anything out. It was before they moved production to Asia, they were basically mex Strats with cheap hardware and electronics, all the blanks were cut in California in the USA plant, around the same time as the fire in the mex plant, lots about this on Google.

Looking at the cheap tuners , that could well be a Squier Series Fender. Most people though just rub out the ''Squier Series'' and leave the Fender on the logo.

Am I the only one who thinks putting a fake logo on a guitar is incredibly cringy?

I have worked on a Mex Strat that had Squier in black marker pen in the pickup cavity

Apparently Mex Strats and Squier Strats used the same bodies when they were both built in Mexico , its not uncommon, they are exactly the same bodies, cut in California and finished in Mexico, they all came off the same shelf.

Not to be mistaken for the Standard MiM Fender guitars of the same period with the Silver logo.

I play guitar because I enjoy it rather than because I’m any good at it

That'll probably sell for a wee bit more than that. Old Squiers seem to be getting popular nowadays.

My first thought was partscaster - MIM standard neck on a Squier body. The colour and single ply guard look like the MIM Squier Series guitars, but they had a bold black modern Fender logo and “Squier Series” where “Original Contour Body” is.
