    NGD....light as a feather...

Wonderful and I can assure the pics don't do it justice.

The fence could do with a bit of Ronseal.

    Nice looking guitar though.

Honestly? Clive B (I was told) reliced 2004 standard. Now, if you know your LP's, 2004 was a fine year. Relic job is fantastic as the colour is right.
that 2002 to around 2006 period are good LP Std - without getting into all the replica market, this is a good period for LP Std's

2002 was a significant year for LP Standards; more ‘vintage’ sounding pick-ups (Burst Buckers), correct ‘narrow’ binding in cutaway, vintage style tuners, narrow headstocks, figured tops, more ‘vintage correct’ sunbursts and a general uplift in fit and finish.

These things were maintained for a few years, before two-piece backs, cast machines, locking jack sockets, coil taps, et al were introduced.

sorry for late reply but Richard has covered key points - Remember during the 70's, 80's and 90's and LP Std's had plain tops, so very little in the way of 'vintage character' - I'm not saying bad guitars, as some are better than others in this era, but not Gibson's finest according to many - 2002 was a turning point as the spec was changed and the 'wow' level went up in many players eyes

Yet despite getting so many features correct, Gibson started to muck around with the LP Standard - that jack socket, printed circuit board for pots, with clear control back plate, neck profile etc etc

Can't recall which year Gibson started with the 'chambered weight relief' models - some say 2004 some say 2006 - Without an x-ray machine it is sometimes hard to tell if it is chambered or not
