Guitar shopping in Paris?

What's Hot
imalrightjackimalrightjack Frets: 3767
Just arrived in Paris for five nights for my honeymoon and I’m eager to have a look around for a new toy (unless I succumb to one of the beauties I’m drooling over from classifieds). Any recomnendations?

And, if I buy, advice on getting a guitar home?

Right. Best get off the bog and go consummate the marriage, eh?

There's an amazing street near Pigalle metro which is basically end to end guitar shops. I only discovered it on a Sunday when they were all closed, even then I saw some interesting stuff through the windows.

Pigalle is Denmark Street of Paris. Some cool stuff there.
This is not an official response.

I"ve nothing to add except I'm very jealous. Paris in the summer, a honeymoon + permission to try and buy a nice guitar, what more could a red blooded chap want,

At the risk of stating the obvious, you're in Paris in the summertime with your new wife, and you're hanging around on a guitar forum?

    Poor girl!  :)

There was an article in Guitar and Bass a few months ago about a street with a few vintage/used sores - don't know where it is but worth trying to find, even if just  a look - Not sure on prices

I remember reading that, they had some great stuff but I can't remember where it was.
Tomorrow will be a good day.

shouldn't you be nailing the misses for 5 days and pigging out on great French food?
The Bigsby was the first successful design of what is now called a whammy bar or tremolo arm, although vibrato is the technically correct term for the musical effect it produces. In standard usage, tremolo is a rapid fluctuation of the volume of a note, while vibrato is a fluctuation in pitch. The origin of this nonstandard usage of the term by electric guitarists is attributed to Leo Fender, who also used the term “vibrato” to refer to what is really a tremolo effect.

What else do you lot do while pooing? She has to suffer me the rest of the time it that’s one thing I’ll not subject her to!

Guitars certainly low on my agenda but if I get chance, why not? :)

There are a few other shops littered around there too, but these are the main streets

Fair point. I've had to delete Paypal from my phone for that reason. I was browsing for a sensible, versatile, well-balanced back up for my Les Paul when I bought a Firebird 1, for which I'm blaming the irrational hastiness brought on by the Poo Sweats.

Sounds like the perfect jaunt. Browsing the Fretboard whilst Olympic Curling and sourcing Gallic guitars...

@guitars4you I think we’ll find somewhere to watch it and enjoy the atmosphere, presuming they win (which, given this World Cup, is far from easy to predict!).
