You’ve seen the other thread, and quite frankly going down to one guitar is just silly

I have however been seriously considering getting down to two electrics for some time now, you never know I might actually get some play time on them and change the strings more than one every two years this way.

So what would it be, two guitars to cover all your bases...

If I had to go two my strat and my 335 copy would cover anything I would ever need. In fact I had just a strat and my 335 for a couple of years.

Acoustic as well of course, although I can play the semi not plugged in for low volume acoustic.

Tom Anderson Short Classic would be my no 1 as per the other thread.

Second choice would logically be a double humbucker. If push came to shove I think I'd keep my Gibson 336 on the rather shallow basis that it's a better visual fit for the music I play than my solid body guitars. And it's an absolutely wonderful guitar.

For me it would be an HSS Strat and a Tele with a P90 in the neck.

But, whatever you do, don't tell my wife that life with only two guitars is possible.

I play in a covers band covering a very wide range of styles, the last three gigs I've used a Vigier Excalibur, a les paul and a la cabronita tele. My point being unless you have some very specific requirements you can cover just about anything with just about anything

They are a year apart. Strat from 82 and 335 from 81. Had the Strat since July 13th 1985 ( bought it Live Aid day morning) and rushed home to catch the start!

@gringopig ; I was wracking my brains to find the whale to complete your picture and you provided it!

Nice guitar and always, always loved that colour.
