Hercules do the job well. I have solid stone walls and found it easier to screw them into a salvaged floorboard which I fixed to the wall with rawlplugs. Looks good too (the wall will be painted one day)

I’ve got around 18 guitars on wall hangers and have never had any problems with marking or security, Most of the hangers cost me around £5 each and came from various sources. I always go for the all metal types with foam covered neck sockets. Like another poster here I fix a long strip of wood to the wall, ( 100mm x 50mm),and attach the hangers to that. I usually only hang cheaper guitars in the sub £500 range, more expensive instruments are stored on floor stands or in cases.

I have my favourite 2 guitars on Hercules locking wall hangers in my living room & 3 guitars in soft/hard cases in the back bedroom.
After finding that someone has badly marked up the body of my RGX & broken the jack plate & input socket I will be buying 3 more Hercules locking wall hangers !
