    Congratz on your new axe!

    I had a new reissue '76 in the early '90s but black and white pickguard I found a bad mix and lost interest in that guitar.

    It eventually got traded for my partscaster Blackie, Which so many years later I am very happy with. I do prefer the 1984 version with no pick guard like Hetfields.

     so if you fancy a reissue of a guitar they never made in a colour they never used then it probably isn't too overpriced.

    I kinda like the V2 ... the trouble is the pickups ... by making them that shape they instantly cut out the ability to fit anything else. That would have been okay if the originals were half way decent, but they were weedy and totally underwhelming. 
      
    How about some Oil City V2 replacement pickups, now there’s a niche within a niche within a niche within a niche
