I was so sorely tempted a few years back as my mum is a Robertson. Always thought that kilts were cool in more ways than one. . Fnaar fnaar

I wouldn't want to wear one for the same reason I never wear shorts - I have pale skinny hairless little legs.  They are much better off covered.

It's not a decision I have to make anyway, because I'm part Welsh, part English, part Irish but not at all Scottish, as far as I know.  Although apparently my surname may be a derivation of MacPhail.

That looks quite long - when it comes to kilt wearing, length is everything. Too long and it looks like a skirt, too short and it looks like an er... skirt.
Yeah, just a stock photo from t'internet. My knobbly knees will be just visible between the kilt and socks.

I already have the appropriate clan pin.

Check my pic in the OP and also Bridgehouse's. Just knees if you do it right. I've got peely-wally legs but in a kilt it doesn't matter.

i think more guys should wear kilts. they look incredibly dashing (if worn with pride and not embarrassment). and more than kilts, cool patterned skirts, pleated skirts, not just the utilikilt thing.

women added trousers to their options en masse in the uk over a hundred years ago. long overdue time for hidebound men to liberate yourselves from that self-imposed 'mens wear' life-sentence!

Kilts are awesome! You guys who have posted a pic look cool in them.

I wish I could wear one but no Scottish blood in the family. I did wear my wife's pink skirt to a wedding but they didn't want me in the photos.

skirtism not just a scots tradition, every male on this continent has a skirt wearing ancestor, and therefore a tradition excuse to get it on if you want to. romans and saxons... all skirty.

"In olden days, a glimpse of stocking was looked on as something shocking.
but now, god knows... anything goes."
