Is there a process for checking the validity of a user?

I've been contacted over the weekend via the messaging system by a user, but something doesn't feel right as they are not a contributing user and also there's a location disparity. Can the admins check if there is something fishy?

You’d need to tell the admins who it was - but thats more for our general awareness as we don’t can’t verify the bona fides of any member.

Ultimately, its caveat emptor (or, I guess, caveat seller in this case) and if it feels wrong, go with your gut unless you can afford to lose the item if it all goes wrong.

We encourage people to join the community and establish their credibility/reputation *before* starting to use the Classifieds, but that advice is often ignored.  Regrettably.
