I must admit that I hadn't heard of the LSL & Xotic brands before (1st & last pictures)

High end? A couple of grand? What nonsense. The high end S-type guitars are by D'Pergo, De Temple & Lentz (Reserve) Yeah, I call £6k high end. Further proof that these guys have such a limited imagination and knowledge of the market.

  • That Schecter looks awful.

There's nothing wrong with the real thing, you know, an actual Fender.

Not quite sure how a Cs fender isn’t on that list. Suhr and Xotic are stunning though. Played both at Peach to test out effects without wanting a guitar and they’ve stuck in my head

  • What a load of rubbish!

I don't consider any of those in the 'Best High-End Strat' category. Not saying that there aren't some decent guitars there but not the best.

Uggh to that PRS. The headstock doesn't suit that guitar at all.

I have to admit that I have boycotted MR since they pulled the plug on the old forum.

I have to say I do like the look of Xotic but seem's like lot of money for a guitar with key components sourced from the far east.

That's not to suggest they don't play/sound nice..

Maybe they think those ones are better than ones that cost 6 grand.

Once they're at the 2 grand mark, what else is being added to them that means it would have to tell for several times that?

For a bolt on, anything over about £1.7k is high end.  The regular Fender factory production tops out at about £1.6k for the American Original.  Basically, anything that costs more than that is high end.

Suhrs, Tom Andersons, Tylers, CS, Xotic, Patrick Eggles and many lesser known brands are missing here.

I've just brought an Xotic XSC after spending a good few months trying strat type guitars in that price range and it was by far the best for me.

I thought they were largely USA made based on the info they have one their website regards origin but maybe its how I've interpreted it.

They list it on their website.

    http://xotic.us/country-of-origin

Click on the Xotic Guitars tab.

If it's anything like other LSLs i've played, it'll look like the apprentice guitar makers third instrument in real life!

Sorry. A bit of over-zealous typing

I'll replace the Xotic with Melancon, Grosh, EBMM
