    Surely the obvious body alteration just adds to its history and story? It might not be as valuable in monetary terms but is it more valuable historically?

    I do quite like the idea of stripping it back and revealing the alteration, but I don't think I could live with the horrendously misaligned tailpiece - that would have to be refitted correctly at the very least.
